These teachers will cater to the needs of students with special needs (from Upper Primary to Higher Secondary level). Candidates with B.Ed. in Special Education or equivalent qualifications approved by RCI are eligible to apply. WBSSC Special Education Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2025
Educational Qualification:
- B.Ed. in Special Education from an RCI-approved institute with valid CRR number; or
- B.Ed. with recognized Diploma/Certificate in Special Education (equivalent to B.Ed. Special Education) from an RCI-approved institute with valid CRR number.
- 6-month training in cross-disability/inclusive education (in-service if not completed earlier).
Age Limit:
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 40 years (as on 1st January 2025)
- Relaxations: SC/ST/OBC/PH as per State Govt. rules.
Special Educators under Samagra Shiksha Mission or Govt.-recognized Special Schools may apply up to 55 years.
Medium of Instruction: Candidate must have studied the language of the school (Bengali, English, Hindi, Nepali, Oriya, Santhali, Telugu, Urdu) at Secondary/Higher Secondary/Graduation level.
