Stage 1: Shorthand (English) Test
- Speed: 120 w.p.m. for 7 minutes
- Transcription time: 45 minutes
- Maximum marks: 100
- Minimum qualifying marks: 50
Stage 2: Objective Type Written Test (100 Questions)
- General English: 25 questions
- General Knowledge: 25 questions
- Constitution (Judiciary): 25 questions
- Supreme Court Rules: 15 questions
- Computer Knowledge: 10 questions
- Maximum marks: 100
- Qualifying Marks: 50 (General), 45 (Reserved)
Stage 3: Typing Speed Test on Computer
- Speed: 40 w.p.m.
- Mistakes Allowed: 2% (General), 3% (Reserved)
- Maximum Marks: 20
- Qualifying Marks: 10 (General), 5 (Reserved)
Stage 4: Interview
- Maximum Marks: 30
- Qualifying Marks: 15 (General), 13 (Reserved)
Additional Weightage
- 03 marks extra for candidates possessing a Law Degree (BGL/LLB academic).

Maximum Age: 45 years
Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years

- No upper age limit for SCI departmental candidates
Educational Qualification & Experience
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
- Degree from a recognized Indian university
- Shorthand (English): 120 w.p.m.
- Typing on Computer: 40 w.p.m.
