Kalyani University Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria 2025

Educational Qualification:-

For M.Sc. (Computer Science) and M.Sc. (Data Science):

• Master’s degree (MCA/M.E./M.Tech/MS/M.Sc.) with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Computer Science/Data Science/Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Science & Technology or other relevant fields.
• Must have cleared UGC/CSIR NET or equivalent.
• Candidates with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline are preferred.
• Desirable: 2 years post-Ph.D. research, 2 years teaching experience, or 3 years in software industry, and publications in high-impact SCI journals.

B.Tech (CSE) Course:-

Any one of the following is acceptable:

• B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. (at least one degree in CSE/IT or relevant).
• Integrated M.Tech. in CSE/IT or equivalent.
• B.E./B.Tech. in CSE/IT with Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
• Ph.D. in CSE along with MCA.
• Desirable: Post-Ph.D. research/teaching/industry experience and SCI publications.

Reservation & Relaxation:

• 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD categories.
• Eligibility must be from recognized universities or institutions.
• Foreign degrees must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Exemption from NET/SLET/SET

Candidates awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 are exempt from NET/SLET/SET. Candidates enrolled before July 11, 2009, are exempt if:

• Ph.D. is awarded in regular mode.
• Evaluated by two external examiners.
• Viva-voce conducted.
• Published two research papers (at least one in refereed journal).
• Two conference/seminar presentations.
