APPSC Thanedar Recruitment 2025
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released the APPSC Thanedar Recruitment 2025 Notification under Notification No. 13/2025 at the official website psc.ap.gov.in. As per the notice, a total of 10 vacancies are announced for the post of Thanedar in A.P. Forest Subordinate Service. Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent can apply online for APPSC Thanedar Recruitment 2025 from 11th September 2025 to 1st October 2025 (11:00 PM). The age limit for applicants is 18 to 30 years as on 01.07.2025.

Candidates can apply online for the Thanedar posts in A.P. Forest Subordinate Service from 11th September 2025. The online application window will remain open till 1st October 2025. APPSC Thanedar Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates must meet the required educational qualification, age limit, and physical standards as per the official notification to apply for Thanedar posts.
Educational Qualification: Must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent. Candidates with higher qualifications are also eligible.
Physical Standards:
- Men: Minimum 163 cm height; Chest 84 cm (normal), 5 cm expansion.
- Women: Minimum 150 cm height; Chest 79 cm (normal), 5 cm expansion.
- Relaxations apply for ST, Gurkha, Nepalese, and other notified communities.
Endurance Test:
- Men: Walk 25 km in 4 hours.
- Women: Walk 16 km in 4 hours.
Age Limit: 18 – 30 years (with relaxation of 5 years for SC, ST, BC, EWS).
APPSC Thanedar Selection Process 2025
The selection process includes a written examination, physical endurance test, medical examination, and bonus marks for NCC certificate holders.
Written Examination (OMR-based)
- Qualifying Test: Essay (50 marks, 45 min) on forest/environment topics.
- Paper I: General Studies & Mental Ability (100 marks).
- Paper II: General Science & General Mathematics (SSC level, 100 marks).
- Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deduction for wrong answers.
Physical Test – Walking Test (qualifying only).
Medical Examination – Conducted by Medical Board.
Final Selection – Based on written exam marks + bonus marks (NCC certificate holders).

The pay scale for the post of Thanedar in A.P. Forest Subordinate Service is ₹20,600 – 63,660/-, along with other allowances as per government norms.
