Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL), a state-run power generation company, has officially announced the opening of online registration for Instrument Mechanic positions.
The application process starts on July 4, 2025, and eligible candidates can apply through the official website — gsecl.in.

GSECL Instrument Mechanic Notification 2025 Released
GSECL has issued a detailed notification outlining the selection process, eligibility conditions, exam structure, and pay scale for the Instrument Mechanic role. This opportunity is ideal for diploma holders in Instrumentation & Control seeking a stable technical career in Gujarat’s power sector.
Number of Vacancies and Educational Requirements
As per the official notification, 30 vacancies have been announced for the post of Instrument Mechanic.
To be eligible for GSECL Instrument Mechanic, candidates must hold a full-time Diploma in Instrumentation & Control (regular mode) from a UGC/AICTE-recognized institution with a minimum of 55% marks in the final year or last two semesters.
Note: Candidates holding a BE/B.Tech degree are not eligible to apply. Even if a diploma holder acquires a degree later, they will not be considered for higher posts based on the degree.
Age Limit and Relaxations
GSECL has defined clear age eligibility criteria for candidates as of July 1, 2025.
The maximum age limit is 35 years for candidates from the Unreserved category.
For Reserved and EWS category candidates, the limit is 40 years.
Additional age relaxations include:
- Female candidates: 5 years
- PwD candidates: 10 years
- Ex-Armed Forces: 10 years
- Dependents of retired GUVNL employees: Up to 40 years
However, no candidate can exceed the maximum age cap of 45 years.
Salary Structure and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of ₹26,000 – ₹56,600 on regular establishment. This includes additional allowances and benefits as per GSECL policies.
Application Fees for GSECL Instrument Mechanic 2025
Candidates applying for the Instrument Mechanic position at GSECL are required to pay a non-refundable application fee online.
- UR/SEBC/EWS: ₹500 (including GST)
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹250 (including GST)
Payment must be made through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking. No other payment methods are accepted.
Online Exam Pattern and Selection Process
GSECL has adopted a two-tier Computer-Based Test (CBT) format for the selection process.
First Tier CBT (100 Marks):
This test is designed to assess general aptitude and language skills.
- Reasoning: 25 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude: 25 marks
- English: 15 marks
- Computer Knowledge: 20 marks
- Gujarati Language & Grammar: 15 marks
Qualifying Marks:
- UR/EWS: 50 marks
- Reserved: 45 marks
Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer
Second Tier CBT (100 Marks):
This technical exam will evaluate subject knowledge relevant to Instrumentation.
Topics include:
- Measurement Systems, Sensors & Transducers
- Control Systems & PID
- PLC/DCS/SCADA
- Analog/Digital Electronics
- Pneumatics, Field Instruments, and more
Only those clearing the first-tier exam will be called for this round.
