The Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL) is a premier institute for advanced research and training in banking, finance, and economics. RBI is now recruiting for two senior-level roles — Director and Senior Adviser — who will lead CAFRAL’s research, learning, and institutional development initiatives.
The appointments are for a five-year term and the selected candidates will receive industry-best compensation based on their qualifications and experience.

RBI CAFRAL Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria
For Director
- PhD in Economics or Finance
- At least 25 years of research and/or teaching experience
- Strong leadership record in institution building and research
- Indian citizen not older than 62 years as on July 1, 2025
- Published work in top-tier academic journals
For Senior Adviser
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Economics or Finance
- Minimum 25 years of teaching/research experience
- Proven academic/policy leadership
- Indian citizen and not older than 62 years as on July 1, 2025
Salary and Compensation
- Best in industry compensation for both roles

Selection Process for RBI CAFRAL Recruitment 2025
- Selection will be made by a Search-cum-Selection Committee set up by RBI.
- The committee may invite candidates or relax criteria in exceptional cases.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
